Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology: November 2025
November 7 takes us into the Fire Pig month, the first month of winter in the Northern hemisphere according to the Chinese solar calendar. Yin now dominates, with nights getting longer and temperature continuing to drop. We’re in the most critical month of the year with the Pig as the sign opposite the Snake. Stay present and keep your frequency high in this clash month of the year. In the Feng Shui Flying Star chart, the monthly stars are duplicates of the annual stars, with star 2 in the center, amplifying the intensity of the month.
Yin Fire in the heavenly frequency of the month represents joy, warmth, and an open heart, but Fire is weakest in winter and easily overpowered by Water, the season’s ruling element. As we head toward the dark of winter in the Northern hemisphere, it’s especially important that we cultivate inner joy with Yin/darkness now dominating. As the most Yin of the seasons, winter invites us to dive deep into the Yin side of us, including the shadow side. Turn on your joy triggers to tune in to the Yang and raise your frequency whenever you find yourself getting pulled in by the Yin.
November is one of those months that always seem to come and go very quickly – this is the fast-paced nature of the Pig as one of the four travel stars in Chinese Astrology. As the sign opposing the Snake, the Pig presents us with the clash month of the year. A clash month is usually the most challenging month of the year, but the intensity of the clash differs each year according to the nature of the signs involved. With the Pig and the Snake as travel stars, we can expect to have a very fast-paced, chaotic month, especially if your chart also contains the Pig or the Snake as they serve as each other’s travel star. Yin Fire in the heavenly frequency of the month and in the Snake in the year is also unpredictable and erratic. With the monthly stars mirroring the annual stars and Mercury also in retrograde for most of the month, staying present is key as the elements around us including the weather will be volatile and many of us will also be on the move. Pay special attention to Destruction days this month on November 8, 20, and December 2, when the Snake also appears in the day pillar to oppose the Pig in the month.
Yin Water in the Pig represents communication, wisdom, and the emotion fear. We all need a healthy dose of fear to motivate us to act and to set boundaries. Too much fear, however, can harm the kidney, the organ associated with Water element, the source of vitality, and the foundation of all Yin and Yang qualities in the body. Those with healthy kidneys are balanced in the masculine and feminine qualities: active yet calm, courageous but gentle, assertive but also compassionate. Nourish the kidneys by keeping yourself hydrated with water and adding salty flavors from sea salt, miso, tamari, or seaweed into your food.
With the coldness of Yin taking over, it is best to stay warm and keep the inner fire strong as too much Water element can contribute to seasonal depression and moodiness. Soak in some sunshine and cook your food to bring in Fire element into the body. Hearty soups and stews are most comforting and grounding to the body during these times.
What’s ahead for the signs
Signs that are in harmony with the Pig are secret friend the Tiger and allies the Sheep (Goat) and the Rabbit. Those with these signs in their natal chart can generally expect a smoother, collaborative month ahead.
Those born in a year or day with Fire element in the heavenly frequency will be blessed with help from the universe with the Pig acting as their Divine Support star, which brings assistance from friends, family, mentors, and strangers alike when needed – a good month for consultations or coaching sessions. *Years with Yin Fire or Yang Fire in the heavenly frequency are those that end with 6 and 7, such as 1976, 1977, 1986, 1987, 1996, 1997, and so on.
The month will fly by even quicker if the Pig is your travel star (which is the case for those born in the year or day of the Snake, the Ox, and the Bird/Rooster). Move with intention and purpose as many of us will be traveling near and far or rushing to get from one place to another.
Those born in the year, month, or day of the Snake, the sign opposite the Pig, will need to take extra precautions, especially when traveling or on the move. If you have a Pig in your birth chart, practice a higher level of self-awareness and self-compassion as the Pig month can trigger the self-punishment penalty, which often manifests as self-sabotaging behaviors. Recognize when your fears and self-doubts stop you from moving forward.

Feng Shui for the Fire Pig month
In the Flying Star chart for the month of the Fire Pig, the numbers in green are the annual stars for the current year (good until February 3, 2026), while the numbers in blue refer to the monthly stars (good from November 7 to December 6, 2025). As you can see, this month’s stars are duplicates of the annual stars, with double Earth stars 2 in the center. The double stars amplify the energies of the year: the good sectors of the year are even better this month, while the negative sectors should ideally be avoided or used only when needed.
The stars in the center of the Bagua chart form the energetic distribution of qi in the environment during the particular period, whether annual or monthly. Each number (with the exception of number five) is associated with a trigram. The various meanings associated with the trigram of the period can provide also us with additional guidance and insights for the period. Star 2 in the center is associated with Kun, the Earth trigram. The Earth trigram relates to Mother Earth, the family matriarch, and the digestive system. It is a pure Yin trigram, with three broken Yin lines symbolizing the female principle, the receptive force. The Earth trigram reminds us that we have the freewill to choose our own actions and the power to create our own outcomes. We’re part of Mother Earth, and what we do matters. Let the qualities of the Earth trigram be your guide: listen and contemplate your actions before you react, take care of the family, nurture the self with nutritious food, be kind to each other.
Star 2 has been associated with illness energy in the past 20-year periods, but its influence as an illness star has been slowly weakening since we entered Period 9 in 2024, and it’s now considered an upcoming prosperity star. We still need to treat the center sector with care, however, especially with double the stars this month. Keep the center of your office or residence clean, tidy, and free of loud noises and bright colors to reduce the heavy Earth afflicting the sector. This is the second time this year that the stars are duplicates - think about your well-being and how your space felt back in February 2025.
This month, the best sectors of the year bring even more vibrancy. These are the East, blessed with double stars 9 of joy and current prosperity; the Southeast, visited by double stars 1 of wisdom and future prosperity; and the South, with double stars 6 of power and authority. Spend more time in these sectors to activate the positive stars. The West sector, occupied by double stars 4 of romance and creativity, is an ideal space for entertaining, relaxation, and creative activities.
Take care when using the Northeast, 2025’s most sensitive sector. Double stars 5 of misfortune residing in the Earth-ruled sector bring heaviness and pressure. Avoid if possible, especially if your bedroom is located in the sector and you’ve been falling sick often this year. Use the sector only as needed and keep it quiet, clean, and tidy. Reinforce all doors and windows located in the North, visited by hostile double stars 7. The Northwest sector, visited by double stars 3 of conflicts, should also be used cautiously. Take note of your emotions when using the sector and leave if anger or irritability arises.
*Although there are remedies to lessen a sector’s negative energy, the best solution is to simply avoid using the sector, or keep the area as tidy and quiet as possible, especially if you’re not familiar with your home’s natal energies as you may accidentally activate a negative natal star. If you do have to spend time in the area, keep your activities there only as needed.
