Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology: June 2026

June 5 takes us into the first day of the Wood Horse month in the Chinese solar calendar. We’re now in the fifth month of the Fire Horse year and the second month of summer, a season ruled by Fire element. The Horse as a Peach Blossom star brings us a double Peach Blossom month. In the Feng Shui Flying Star monthly chart, monthly star 4 of romance and creativity “flies” to the center, which reinforces the social nature of the Horse in the month and the year.

The month of the Horse opens with a seasonal marker called “Grain Ripens,” a 15-day period when summer fruits and vegetables are quickly ripening and farmers start harvesting wheat. Yang has now stabilized and is taking over Yin, with Yin completely out of the environment by the time we enter solstice in the second half of the month on June 21st. This is a time to begin a new project or build new alliances that will bring result in autumn with growth-oriented Yang Wood in the heavenly stem of the month and nature now at its brightest and most expansive.

The Horse as a Yang Fire sign is the sign that represents the height of summer. Fire is the most Yang, the most active of the elements. Whereas Yin Fire, which is represented by the Snake, is the Yin manifestation of Fire, Yang Fire in the Horse is pure Yang, which makes 2026 the year of the Fire Horse the most Yang year in a 60-year cycle. Fire as the element of hopes, light, and joy helps raise our frequency. We may find ourselves high in spirit and energy more often than usual this month in this year of the Fire Horse, but it will also be even easier to burn out.

As a Peach Blossom star, the Horse encourages us to enjoy the light-hearted pleasures of summer. Also called stars of romance, the Peach Blossoms love to socialize and engage in community celebrations and seasonal get-togethers. It’s no wonder that the month of the Horse is one of the busiest times for weddings, summer parties, and graduations, and in this year of the Horse, it will be even busier between now to July 6!

2026 Solstice: a special day in a special year

Every year, summer solstice marks the peak of Yang according to the Chinese solar calendar when Fire element is at its strongest with the Horse in the month. At this time of year, Yang or Light dominates and we have the longest day in the Northern hemisphere before Yin starts to rise again. But 2026 is a special year and this year’s solstice is a very special day that only happens once every 60 years. This is also the only Fire Horse year we’ll have in our current Period 9, which further amplifies the Fire. The last time we had a Fire Horse year in Period 9 was in 1846, 180 years ago.

Yang Fire as the bright light of the sun is considered the source of our vitality in Chinese metaphysics, but the excessive fire in the Fire Horse represents an abundance of energy that needs to be consciously managed in the month of the Horse. Balance the Yang with the Yin: that can be as simple as slowing down and taking a break every now and then to recharge and recenter, especially during the hour of the Horse, which is 11am to 1pm your local time when sunlight is strongest where you are. Retreat to your inner world when the outside world gets too loud.

For those in the Southern hemisphere, all that Fire is still there but it’s manifested within. As you head toward winter solstice, try to get as much light as possible and do what brings you joy to keep stoking the Fire within and strengthen your inner world with Yin dominating the external environment.

What’s ahead for the signs and daymasters

With Yang Wood in the heavenly stem, this month brings opportunities for growth and expansion while the Horse in the month amplifies our love for love, adventures, and play. Those born in year or day of the Snake, the Ox, and the Rooster will get to enjoy a double Peach Blossom month - you’re more popular than ever and everyone just wants to invite you to join them! The Horse also brings ease to secret friend the Sheep and allies the Tiger and the Dog.

If you have a Rat in your chart, this is your double clash month. As the sign opposite the Horse, you may be the busiest person in your circle this month with everyone demanding your attention. Find balance between your personal and professional obligations.

With double the Horse in the year and the month, everyone needs to be discerning with their boundaries this month, especially those who also have the Horse in their chart. The Horse is highly social and loves a good time but can be prone to excess when there are more than one of them.

If you’re a Yang Wood or Yin Wood daymaster, the Wood Horse month is poised to be one of your busiest and most productive months in an already very busy year with Yang Fire as your output element increasing your productivity while Yang Wood in the heavenly stem puts you in the center of activities. Since Fire burns Wood, check in with your energy level and rest as needed to avoid burnouts. Since the output element also indicates one’s offspring, Wood daymasters may find that their children will need their attention this month even more in this demanding year.

If you’re a Yang Fire daymaster, the Fire Horse has brought support from your circles, and this month you may spend time with your biggest supporters. It’s a little more competitive for the Yin Fire daymasters, but collaborate instead of competing with those in your fields for a win-win outcome. Yang Wood in the heavenly stem highlights health and learning for both Yin and Yang Fire daymasters - focus on your well-being and self-growth this month.

For Yin or Yang Earth daymasters, Yang Wood in the heavenly stem highlights your career and authority, while Fire in the Horse represents resources, which include talents/skills, assets, and health. You may get recognition for your hard work. Invest in classes or workshops that can take you even further in your field.

It’s a stressful month at work for Yang Metal daymasters since Fire melts Metal, but the rewards will also be high as Wood in the heavenly stem of the month is the wealth element for Metal daymasters. As Yang Fire in the Horse represents extreme power for Yang Metal, they may have to spend a lot of time complying with various rules and regulations. Yin Metal day masters, on the other hand, will enjoy more support from their peers as Yang Fire is the match to Yin Metal, a good month for collaborations and partnerships. Yin Metal daymasters or those born in a Yin Metal year are also blessed with a double Divine Support (“nobleman”) month. This is a very helpful month for you - a good time to schedule personal, medical, or professional consultations as the Horse brings heavenly guidance and support from the Divine, which can manifest as assistance from friends, family, mentors, colleagues, and strangers alike. *Yin Metal years are years that end with 1, such as 1991, 2001, 2011, 2021, and so on.

Fire in the Horse represents wealth for Water daymasters. This is a month to enjoy the fruits of your labor. With Yang Wood in the heavenly stem highlighting your resources, focus on your well-being and invest your hard-earned money wisely, but do treat yourself to a nice vacation or retreat.

*You can calculate your natal BaZi birth chart using this chart calculator to discover your daymaster (your elemental archetype) and the animal sign of the day you were born. Knowing your chart helps you see limitless possibilities. For example, if Fire is your Wealth element (which means that you’re a Water daymaster born on a Yang or Yin Water day), then you can anticipate more wealth opportunities in the month of the Horse. Chinese metaphysics is a highly powerful strategic tool that can give you a competitive edge in your field. Hexagram of the Month: hexagram 1, the Creative Principle

I love that the I-Ching hexagram for the Wood Horse is hexagram 1, the Creative Principle. This is a very powerful, assertive hexagram very much aligned with the all-Yang Fire Horse year. Six solid Yang lines featuring double Heaven trigrams represent the ultimate Yang, the creative force bestowed by heaven. Hexagram 1 shows us pure light in the sky originating from Heaven, indicating that major changes and events are the works of heavenly forces. Follow the light for guidance and inspiration. What you do matters. Keep doing the work, believe in your dreams, and trust in Divine timing.

Feng Shui for the Wood Horse month (June 5 - July 6)

In the Flying Star chart for the month of the Wood Horse, the numbers in green are the annual stars for the current year (good until February 3, 2027), while the numbers in blue refer to the monthly stars (good from June 5 to July 6, 2026).

The various meanings associated with the flying star at the center can provide us with guidance and insights for the specific period. Monthly star 4 of romance and creativity in the center reinforces the relationship-focused and highly social nature of the Wood Horse month. A Wood element star associated with Xun, the Wind trigram, star 4 is a reminder from the Tao for us to be creative and expansive with our visions.

This month, the most vibrant sectors are the center, North, East, and Southwest sectors. Monthly star 4 together with annual star 1 of wisdom and upcoming prosperity in the center creates an auspicious, lively combination that benefits homes with an open center. Monthly star 9 of joy and prosperity in the North amplifies the positive influence of annual star 6 of power while monthly star 2 of distant prosperity combines with annual star 8 creating a vibrant sum of 10 in the East. In the Southwest, monthly star 1 together with annual star 7 can help improve our thought process and communication.

Do your work or daily activities in these four sectors to activate the positive stars. You may find that you are more productive and result-oriented when you spend more time in these sectors of the house or the office, though do be mindful when using the East sector as monthly star 2 in the East can cause digestive issues. *Star 2 was associated with illness energy in the past 20-year periods, but its influence as an illness star has been slowly weakening since we entered Period 9 in 2024, and it’s now considered an upcoming prosperity star. We still need to treat sectors visited by star 2 with care, however.

Keep the South and Northwest sectors clean, tidy, and free of loud noises and bright colors to reduce the heavy Earth afflicting the sectors. These are the sectors visited by the annual or monthly stars 5 of misfortune. Take extra precautions when it comes to your health if your bedroom is located in any of these sectors. With monthly star 3 of arguments in the Southeast sector and annual star 3 in the West, use these sectors sparingly. Keep them well lit and leave if you feel anger or irritability rising. Reinforce all doors and windows located in the Southwest and Northeast, afflicted by the annual and monthly 7, a hostile star associated with robbery and fire dangers.

*Although there are remedies to lessen a sector’s negative energy, the best solution is to simply avoid using the sector, or keep the area as tidy and quiet as possible, especially if you’re not familiar with your home’s natal energies as you may accidentally activate a negative natal star. If you do have to spend time in the area, keep your activities there only as needed.
