Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology: March 2024

March 5 takes us into the Fire Rabbit month in the Chinese solar calendar, the second month of the Wood Dragon year. We’re now in the middle of spring, with Wood element at its strongest. In the Flying Stars Feng Shui chart, monthly star 4 of romance and creativity rules the center. A Yin Wood star, star 4 reinforces the sociable and highly creative qualities of the Rabbit’s Yin Wood.

The month opens with a two-week seasonal marker called “Insects Awaken”, one of the most beautiful times of the year, with nature all around us in bloom. Take a walk outside on the first day of the month and you may notice a shift in energy around you as we enter this new marker, which can be as subtle as a slight drop or rise in temperature, humidity, or air pressure. Yin and Yang will soon return to balance in the second half of the month when we reach spring equinox, the peak of spring in the Northern hemisphere according to Chinese metaphysics.

Yin Fire in the heavenly frequency of the month brings us deeper into the frequency of Period 9 that we just transitioned into last month at the start of the Wood Dragon year. Associated with joy and the heart, the light of Yin Fire is soft like a candle flame but can also be unpredictable. We may experience light bulb moments through the month as the heart is more open to inspiration. Follow what excites the heart to tune in to the joy frequency of Yin Fire. Do what makes your heart sing to stoke the fire within.

The Rabbit as a Yin Wood sign, like flowers reaching toward light, invites us to see the world from a higher perspective. One of the four Peach Blossom signs in Chinese Astrology, the Rabbit attracts and pulls others into its orbit. It’s an especially social month if you were born in year or day of the Dog, the Tiger, and the Horse, and a harmonious, collaborative month for secret friend the Dog and zodiac allies the Sheep and the Pig.

If you were born in a Water year, which are years that end with 2 or 3 such as 1972, ‘73, ‘82, ‘83, ‘92, ‘93 and so on, from now to April 3 is a good time to schedule personal, medical, or professional consultations as the Rabbit brings Divine Support and guidance.

Be mindful of excess if you have a Rooster, the sign opposite the Rabbit, in your chart. As a Yin Metal sign, the Rooster / the Bird should be especially careful with their words and when handling sharp objects in the month of the Rabbit.

Guidance from the Chinese Five Elements Oracle

I pulled a card from The Chinese Five Elements Oracle for collective guidance in the Fire Rabbit month. The Water Dragon shows up to help us manifest our dreams.

From the oracle: This card is a reassurance from the Divine that you’re on the right path and on your way to manifesting your lifelong dreams, despite challenges and adversities. Feel the change in the air. What you’ve been working for is finally within reach. You’ve never been one who shies away from fear, as much as it terrifies you. Your guides are cheering your progress and encouraging you to give yourself a pat on the back for each step you take, no matter how small.

The Dragons have been actively speaking in this year of the Wood Dragon! Listen to their messages in this Five Elements spread for collective guidance in the year ahead.

*You can order your copy of the oracle here and claim your bonus gifts, which include the 10 archetypes of the Chinese five elements. To the many of you who ordered the deck, thanks so much for the support! I hope you can leave a kind review on the retailer's site, as that will help the oracle find its way to more people who are in need of guidance.

Feng Shui for the Fire Rabbit Month (March 5, 2024 - April 3, 2024)

In the Flying Star chart for March 2024 above, the numbers in green are the annual stars for the current year (good until February 3, 2025), while the numbers in blue refer to March 2024’s monthly stars (good from March 5, 2024 to April 3, 2024).

The stars in the center of the Bagua chart, represented by the numbers, form the energetic foundation of the particular periods, whether annual or monthly. Each number (with the exception of number five) is associated with a trigram. The symbolisms of the trigrams can provide us with messages and guidance to issues that arise during the specific period.

Star 4 in the center reinforces the social nature of the Rabbit month. Associated with Xun, the Wind trigram (☴), star 4 is a reminder from the Tao for us to be creative and expansive with our visions, and to stay flexible in our attitude to best adapt to the winds of change.

This month’s most auspicious sectors are the North and the Southwest. Activate these especially vibrant sectors by doing your daily activities there. If the center of your home is an open space, you can use it as a creative space as the presence of star 4 invites creative energy into your whole space, though be mindful of the annual star 3’s argumentative energies in the center.

Keep the West, Southeast, East, and Northwest sectors quiet – these are the sectors afflicted with annual or monthly star 5 of misfortune and star 2 of illness. Take extra precautions when it comes to your health if your home faces one of these directions, or if your bedroom is located in one of these sectors.

Reinforce all doors and windows located in the South and Northeast sectors, afflicted by hostile annual and monthly star 7 associated with robbery and fire dangers. Take care when handling sharp objects in these sectors, especially with double Metal in the Northeast.
